A DOG REALLY IN NEED… All us rescue groups need donations to keep us going, but one of my volunteers brought to my attention, a dog named GI JOE — Orlando area. A former BAIT DOG. 322 Stitches. The thing that warms my heart is that he is going forward… he is sweet, loves to play with his toys and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. His temperament does not reflect his past —- This dog has been through literal hell and needs another chance. STEWIE is a gentle, affectionate Lab/Pit mix who’s about 3 months old. He’s a social puppy who loves handling and attention; he’s also very playful – he likes his toys, and enjoys romping and wrestling with his kennel-mate, Suzette.
Stewie is looking for an active family who’ll give him lots of love and attention, and take him to puppy class.

It takes less than a minute (only about 15 seconds actually) to go to their site and click on the purple box titled, ‘Click Here to Give - it’s FREE!’. Every click gives about .6 bowls of food to sheltered dogs. You can also click daily!
Keep in mind that this does not cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising. [via.]

I just adore CAPTAIN JAKE (#335) !
A Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier Mix, approximately 2 years old, a little underweight at 40 lbs (should be about 50-55lbs). This dog has an INCREDIBLE personality. His love for life and people is just heartwarming. He is AWESOME with all the dogs he has met. He is good on leash but can definitely use some work on it. VERY affectionate. He is just starvingfor attention and love. He went to the vet to be checked and his eye was surgically removed a long time ago. He is emaciated and needs to eat 3 smalls meals a day. He was also de-wormed and had his very long nails cut which he did great with! LEGAL DAY OF ADOPTION IS 12-7 which means he will need a home that very day … a BIRTHDAY of sorts!
